Write for us

The Kalbarri Field Journal publishes original visitor writing about the park, the town and the Mid West approaches. If you have walked the Loop before 7 am, waited out a southerly at Natural Bridge, or know a wildflower roadside the brochures skip, pitch it.

What we commission

  • First-hand walk notes with times, water and turnaround points.
  • Seasonal reporting: wildflowers, heat, river levels, wind.
  • Access writing: wheelchairs, kids, unhitching vans, no-dog planning.
  • Natural history that stays useful — geology, birds, Nanda place names used with care.

What we will not publish

  • Rewritten official brochures or scraped trip blogs.
  • Advice that treats the Loop as a casual summer stroll.
  • Unmarked paid links. Guest-post and paid placements use rel="sponsored".
  • Anything that pretends to be Parks and Wildlife.

How to pitch

Send a headline, a 150-word angle, and why a visitor would act on it. Include whether you walked the ground and when. We reply when a piece fits a hub — plan your visit, walks and trails, inland gorges, coastal cliffs, nature and seasons or town and stay.

House rules

Frequently asked questions

Do you accept paid links or sponsored mentions?
Sometimes, and only when the surrounding copy is useful to visitors. Those links are published with rel="sponsored". We do not sell hidden links or fake reviews of tours.
What length do you want?
1,000 words is the floor. Most accepted pieces run 1,200–1,800 words with original reporting or first-hand walking notes.
